Well seems Jack Thompson might not be much of a problem in the near future, the Anti-Game Lawyer has reason to be a little embarrassed this week as The Florida Supreme Court approved a recommendation made by Judge Dava Tunis earlier this year, a recommendation that Jack Thompson receive a permanent disbarment with no opportunity for reinstatement. Judge Tunis was present in the long disciplinary hearing earlier this year where the Florida Bar raised 31 separate disciplinary issues concerning Jack Thompson, out of which he was found guilty in 27 of these cases.

In addition to the recommend disbarment that has now been approved, he was ordered to pay legal fees of $43,675.35 to the Bar. The Florida Supreme Court also approved of this, and said as well as being disbarred he must pay these fees immediately. It is believed that all those emails, faxes and letters he sent out to judges and Florida Courts defending himself actually crippled him in the end.

Thompson will be disbarred in twenty-eight days from today, that is unless he fulfills all the obligations to his current clients earlier then that date, at which time he will be disbarred earlier. The twenty-eight days is the final and the latest date at which he will be disbarred.

A press release posted on Kotaku by Thompson stated:

"The timing of this disbarment transparently reveals its motivation: This past Friday I [Thompson] filed a federal civil rights action against The Bar, the Supreme Court, and all seven of its Justices."

"This rush to disbarment is in retribution for the filing of that federal suit. With enemies this foolish, Thompson needs only the loyal friends he has. Thompson always wanted to own a Bar. Now, armed with multiple US Supreme Court rulings that no state bar can do what it has done to Thompson, he is set to own that Bar."

Now Jack, is this really the smartest move? You are just about to loose nearly everything you have, and you want to make things even worse for yourself? Well, it should be interesting, a gaming world without Jack Thompson, but lets wait and see how things pan out, the tables could still turn, apparently the Bar will reconsider the approval of his disbarment if a Bar attorney signs a motion in good standing. However, we highly doubt Jack has any friends left that would do that for him. Goodbye Jack Thompson.
