Trademark for unreleased PS3-exclusive, Agent, renewed
Trademark for unreleased PS3-exclusive, Agent, renewed
Ever wonder what happened to the PS3-exclusive "Agent"? You could easily be forgiven for forgetting about Agent; it was first announced as an unnamed project way-back in 2007 by Sony as a new IP from Rockstar for the, then new to the scene, PlayStation 3. Then, in June of 2009 it was titled and we were told that it was based in the "1970's and will take the player across the globe in the shadowy world of espionage".
Apart from the Official Website launching quietly mid-2009, rumours of the game originally being a Rockstar San Diego developed title for PS2 and Xbox in late 2009, and finally rumours of the game no longer being PS3-exlusive in mid-2011, nothing more has been officially discussed regarding the game, or it's future. With the next-gen consoles hitting later this year, many journalists and fans alike have been talking about the game. Being it was announced as a semi-launch title for PlayStation 3 and then skipped the entire current-gen consoles, question are understandable.
There is still hope though. Noted today by Siliconera, the Agent trademark has been renewed by Take-Two. The logo itself has also been renewed and appears to not have changed at all since the official announcement in 2009:
The mark consists of the word "AGENT" with the shape of a handgun comprising the internal section of the letter "G".
With the renewal having taken place, it would seem that Take-Two and Rockstar haven't forgotten about Agent either, so we'll perhaps be hearing more about the title in the not too distant future...
