A Special Edition of Asked & Answered for GTAV

Published at 6:37 AM PST

It's been a few weeks since Rockstar revealed anything new about Grand Theft Auto V, and the anticipation is unbearably high as we move into the final 76 days until launch. Fans have, as to be predicted, plenty of questions about the game that Rockstar has been keeping under a commendable amount of secrecy. To help answer the more common of these questions, a special edition of the fantastic "Asked & Answered" piece has been published today. You can see all of the questions and answers on the Newswire, or check out the most intriguing answers below:

Protagonist Switching

  • Michael, Franklin and Trevor have their own separate lives with their own sets of friends and acquaintances, and even their own preferred ways of spending their free time.
  • You can freely switch between all three at any time, and for any reason, whilst not on a mission.
  • Each has their own schedule, meaning when you drop in on a particular one, there is no telling what they'll be in the middle of – you might drop in on Michael in the middle of a family dispute, interrupt Franklin chatting up some ladies, or Trevor on the run from the law.
  • Each also has their own missions and side jobs.
  • There will be times on a mission when you play as one character, or as combinations of two of them, and sometimes as all three.
  • During missions where more than one protagonist is involved, you can switch the same way you can outside of a mission, to any of the protagonists involved.
  • It's not going to be easy to track down another protagonist around Los Santos given it's vast size, but it is certainly possible. You can arrange a meeting with one if you find it too difficult to pin their location.
  • You can abuse fellow protagonists, but you can't kill them – they have great health insurance, so worst case scenario, they'll end up in the E.R.

Physical Package

  • All versions of the game, including the standard edition, will be accompanied by a map – as it has always been with GTA games.
  • The included map will be double-sided, due to the vast size and detail.
  • Both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 version of the game will require an installation.
  • The Xbox 360 version will come with two disks. Only the first disk will require installation (roughly 8GB is required), after which stage you won't require the disk again – no swapping mid-game!
  • PlayStation 3 will ship with just one disk, as expected.
  • Differences between either system – be it graphics or otherwise – should be insignificant. As any Red Dead Redemption or Max Payne 3 players know, Rockstar has the magic touch in regards to this.

Multiplayer

  • The multiplayer component is called Grand Theft Auto Online.
  • More details will be revealed this summer.

Customization

  • Both weapons and cars will have a deep level of available customization.
  • More on this very soon!

Gameplay

  • The first Official Gameplay Video is on the way.

There you have it. Much more in the pipeline; and with just over two months until the game hits stores, be prepared for an upcoming overload of information, previews and videos!
