Midnight Club LA Previews Round-up

Published at 4:41 AM PST

As we are coming closer to the release of Rockstar's upcoming racer, Midnight Club: Los Angeles, previews and reviews from some of the major gaming websites have been cropping up. We have gathered a couple of nice details about Midnight Club LA from a few of those websites:

Gamespot:

  • We played the multiplayer side of Midnight Club for a few hours, and we're pleased to report that it's just as much fun as single-player. The version we played was for the Xbox 360, but Rockstar has told us that the PlayStation 3 version will be identical.
  • A gauge at the bottom of the screen shows vital information, including speed, damage, and boost. If you have too many crashes during a race, your vehicle will reset, and though you'll lose some time, you'll get a shiny new ride and a topped-up boost as a consolation prize.

IGN:

  • Winding through the University Pass at night in a bulging Challenger muscle car, the lighting brings a nocturnal LA to life, as Midnight Club takes Grand Theft Auto IV's already impressive graphics engine and embellishes it with another level of sheen.

Destructoid:

  • A neat mode that can be played on- or offline is the Race Editor. In it, you can drive around L.A., literally placing checkpoints as you go, to create your own high-speed car chase.
